Fans can step into the twisted world of Aphex Twin with the producer’s foray into augmented reality.

Earlier this month, the enigmatic producer dropped a four-track EP, Blackbox Life Recorder 21f / In a Room7 F760, his first since 2018. Now, the effort is accompanied by “YXBoZXh0d2lu,” an application with an encrypted title which translates to “aphextwin” when decoded using the Base64 binary-to-text encoding scheme.

The app allows users to delve into an assembly of AI-driven scenes upon pointing one’s smartphone at the EP’s packaging, per NME. Produced in partnership with spacial media developer KALKUL and renowned visual artist Weirdcore, the project transports users in the creative headspace that inspired this latest round of tracks from the electronic music legend.

In characteristic fashion, Aphex Twin went bold and out-of-the-box when it comes to the development of these visual landscapes. Notably, the “In a Room7 F760” experience—a reference to the third track on the EP—evidently yields a display that seeks to “bring the festival experience of the Aphex Twin x Weirdcore AV show to your living room.”

Users can download the app for free for iOS here and for Android here.
