The British Royal Family are hosting American President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump at Windsor Castle on their State Visit to the United Kingdom this week, which is the latest in over a century of American Presidential Visits to Britain and follows President Trump’s previous State Visit in 2019.
The Prince and Princess of Wales (wearing the Prince of Wales Feathers Brooch) greeted President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump on the grounds of Windsor Castle before they were welcomed by King Charles III and Queen Camilla (wearing Queen Mary’s Russian Sapphire Cluster Brooch) as a Royal Salute was fired from the East Lawn of Windsor Castle and at the Tower of London.
The President and First Lady joined the King and Queen, and the Prince and Princess of Wales, in a carriage procession towards Windsor Castle, escorted by the Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment to the Quadrangle of Windsor Castle, where the President and First Lady joined the King and Queen on the Royal Dais to inspect the guard of honour, with the state colours of the Grenadier Guards, Coldstream Guards and Scots Guards.
Following lunch in the State Dining Room with members of the Royal Family, the King and Queen invited the President and First Lady to view a special display of items from the Royal Collection relating to the United States of America in the Green Drawing Room.
Later, the President and First Lady joined the King and Queen, the Prime Minister and Lady Starmer and US and British military families to view a Beating Retreat ceremony on the East Lawn of Windsor Castle, which concluded with a flypast by UK and US F-35 military jets and the Red Arrows.
In the evening, King Charles III and Queen Camilla held a State Banquet in honour of President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump at St. George’s Hall in Windsor Castle. Both the King and President gave Speeches.
King Charles wore White Tie with the Garter, Sash and Star of the Order of the Garter, the Star of the Order of the Thistle, the Order of the Bath, and his Medals. Queen Camilla wore the Belgian Sapphire Tiara, Greville Festoon Necklace, the Sash and Star of the Order of the Garter, and the Royal Family Order of King Charles III.
The Prince of Wales wore the Garter, Sash and Star of the Order of the Garter, the Star of the Order of the Thistle, the Order of the Bath, and his Medals. The Princess of Wales wore Queen Mary’s Lover’s Knot Tiara with the Sash and Star of the Royal Victorian Order, the Royal Family Order of King Charles III, and the Royal Family Order of Queen Elizabeth II.
The Duchess of Edinburgh wore her Aquamarine Tiara and Aquamarine Suite with the Sash and Star of the Royal Victorian Order, the Royal Family Order of King Charles III, and the Royal Family Order of Queen Elizabeth II.
The Duchess of Gloucester wore the Gloucester Honeysuckle Tiara with the Order of the Garter, the Royal Family Order of King Charles III, and the Royal Family Order of Queen Elizabeth II.
The Lady Mayoress of the City of London wearing her magnificent Pearl and Diamond Tiara.
President Trump first met with the Queen at Windsor Castle during a visit to the United Kingdom in 2018, reviewing the guard and having tea.
The Royal Family hosted the President and First Lady Melania Trump on their State Visit to the United Kingdom in 2019, which also had a State Banquet held by the Queen (in the Burmese Ruby Tiara) at Buckingham Palace, the last of the Reign of the late Queen.
A few months later, the President and First Lady were back in London for the NATO 70th Anniversary Reception at Buckingham Palace.
