Alaska Airlines Passengers Continue To Feel Effects of IT Outage At Airports – KXL

Alaska Airlines travelers on their way from PDX for the weekend have been dealing with the after effects of the IT outage that caused flights to be canceled and delayed.

Staci was one of many Alaska Airlines flyers who got to PDX early last night for her flight to Boston. She says what she’s had to go through to what’s happened this morning.

“Our particular plane was taking off on time,” Staci said. “It was not the case at all.”

“It switched gates without telling us, so then you see a bunch of people down there,” Staci continued. “It was way after 9:30.”

“And then it switches to 1:45am and then canceled,” Staci said.

She said what airline officials told her next.

“We were sent into a 500-person line, herded in,” Staci said. “And we’ve been sitting here for about eight hours in line.”

“Nobody has said a thing to us,” Staci continued.

Staci was near the front of the line to rebook, more than five hours after her flight was originally canceled and more than nine hours after her flight was supposed to take off from PDX. She also tells KXL that she was quoted a six-hour wait time to talk to Alaska Airlines personnel over the phone.

Alaska Air says that the issue that grounded flights was resolved late last night.
