Who Needs to Be Stuck the I95 Off-Ramp When You Could Just Live There?
For Philly Sports fans, we’ve finally seen it all.
For many of us, it’s a dream come true.
If you’ve even been to an Eagles, Flyers, Sixers, or Phillies Game, went scrambling for the exists to beat the traffic before the game’s end, and had that unmistakable feeling that you never wanted to leave — now may be your chance.
Comcast Spectacor is proposing an exiting new idea for the South Philadelphia Sports Complex off of Packer Ave.
Just never feel that you have to leave.
This one may take some explanation.
Let’s begin with a proposed 460,000 sq. feet of retail shopping. As though huge Pro Shops with every piece of fan gear imaginable for the serious Philadelphia Sports Fan isn’t enough, the proposal would offer more retail therapy for your shopping experience.
If you are going to shop there, why not work there as well? With over 500,000 square feet of office space, why not work in the bastion of South Philadelphia Sport glory?
You wouldn’t be distracted, would you?
And we can’t forget another 5,500 seat arena — just what is needed. More seating in a Sports Complex.
And of course, if you could utilize the restrooms, eat, shop, and work, you could always just live there. And with an additional 500 hotel rooms for those with an expense account to be precise and an approximate 2,000 family apartments you can be assured to be unable to leave your home during every Philadelphia Sporting Event.

Comcast executives will no doubt be monitoring plans that are moving forward for the 76ers at 76 Place at Market East in Center City, which is expected to open in the year 2031 with an estimated, additional 18,500 seats as their new home arena right next to public transportation and Fashion District Shopping, a similar model to what is being proposed.
Given the possibility of never having to leave the South Philadelphia Sports Complex?
