A few showers today with warmer temperatures

PORTLAND, Oregon — Presidents’ Day is going to bring in a few, mainly light showers during the day to the valley. East winds continue to be breezy near the gorge to 30 mph. Snow level over the Cascade for an inch or two of snow at most will be near 4,000 feet. Heavier scattered showers Tuesday and some rain in the forecast through Wednesday evening.
Looking at the week ahead, a nice run of dry days with sunshine Thursday through Saturday. High temps in the valley may approach 60 degrees on Friday.
Sunday will see developing rain as a strong Pacific front approaches. The front will drop snow levels below 1,500 feet Monday. Mt. Hood snow totals Sunday – Tuesday of next week should exceed 20 inches, while heavy rain falls in the valley with gusty west winds.
