“So stupid. The credits literally end with a little behind-the-scenes featurette showing the dog being ‘tricked’ into every (re)action captured on camera. An insult to the human nominees: Alison Brie, Ethan Hawke, Sally Hawkins, Sophie Thatcher and Alfie Williams,” somebody else tweeted.
“In all seriousness, I loved ‘Good Boy’, but I think very talented actors losing to a dog for an acting award is in very poor taste. A honorary little award for him would be cute, but this? Disrespectful to the actors..” another wrote.
One more said: “gonna need everyone to grow up and get a grip because this is just embarrassing.”
But some leaped to defend Indy, pointing out that the award was technically a recognition of the people who trained him. One tweet reads: “I’m a massive fan of horror movies. Indy deserves this. He was trained by human beings to be in this movie. His humans technically won the award.”
