FHP: Motorcyclist dies after being thrown from bike, striking nearby pedestrian in Seminole County

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash involving a motorcycle and pedestrian on Sunday. According to FHP, a motorcyclist was traveling eastbound on Howell Branch Road in Seminole County, approaching Winterbrook Way. At the same time, a pedestrian was traveling eastbound on the south sidewalk of the same street. The 63-year-old motorcyclist failed to negotiate a curve. As a result, FHP said the man ran off the roadway right and collided with the curb. The impact threw the man from his motorcycle, at which point he struck the 23-year-old pedestrian. FHP said the motorcyclist was pronounced dead on scene. The pedestrian only suffered minor injuries. FHP said she was not transported and remained on-scene. This crash remains under investigation.
