8-year-old killed in major NW Harris County construction site crash, officials say

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — A major crash involving one vehicle in northwest Harris County left one child dead Sunday evening, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Department.

Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said in a social media post that the crash happened in a construction zone at the 8700 block of West Little York Road, sending three people, including an 8-year-old child, to the hospital.

The 8-year-old was later pronounced dead at the hospital, officials said.

Authorities stated that West Little York Road is currently shut down.
