73-year-old Stockton man dies from gunshot after being hospitalized

(FOX40.COM) — A 73-year-old man who was shot on Monday afternoon has been pronounced dead after being hospitalized, according to the Stockton Police Department.

Around 4:16 p.m., SPD responded to the 700 block of South San Joaquin Street for a shooting. When officers arrived at the scene, they found a man in his 70s with a gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital. However, around 9 p.m. he was pronounced dead.

An investigation is underway after a 73-year-old man was fatally shot on Sept. 22, 2025.

No arrests have been made, and the incident remains under investigation. Anyone with information can submit tips anonymously through Stockton Crime Stoppers at 209-946-0600. Tips that lead to an arrest may be eligible for a reward.
