6.0 magnitude earthquake strikes off Oregon Coast near Bandon

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A 6.0 magnitude earthquake happened off the Oregon Coast on Wednesday.

The quake occurred approximately 173 miles off the coast of Bandon at approximately 1:15 p.m. Wednesday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The shallow quake occurred about 6.2 miles below the Earth’s surface.

The U.S. National Tsunami Warning Center reports that no Tsunamis are expected as a result of the offshore quake.

No other details were immediately available.
