At around 7:05 p.m. on October 12, state troopers came to the area of I-40 and Cole Road after getting a report of a deadly crash.
Investigators say that a 2021 Honda Accord went off the right side of the road at a high rate of speed and hit a bridge pillar at Cole Road. The car caught fire upon impact and all four of the people inside were killed.
The victims are 23-year-old Davian Jacob Silvestri, of Goldsboro, 18-year-old Elijah Brown, of Virginia, 18-year-old Deandre Dwayne Wimley, of Virginia and 21-year-old Marcus Phifer, of Virginia.
