(FOX40.COM) — Three people are dead following a standoff in Rancho Cordova early Thursday morning, the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office said.

According to the sheriff’s office, around 1:15 a.m. deputies responded to a home on Hartselle Way

At the residence, deputies saw a deceased woman lying in the doorway and attempted to make contact with a man inside the home they believed was armed.

After a standoff, the suspect was fatally shot by a member of the sheriff’s office.

The sheriff’s office found a second deceased man inside the home.
