24-year-old motorcyclist hit and killed in crash with Conroe ISD patrol vehicle, police say

CONROE, Texas (KTRK) — Authorities say a motorcyclist died in a crash with a Conroe Independent School District patrol vehicle on Tuesday.

The Conroe Police Department said the wreck happened in the 2900 block of North Loop 336 East on Tuesday at 6:37 p.m.

Investigators learned a Conroe ISD patrol vehicle was going northbound in the middle lane, preparing to turn west into the CISD police station parking lot, where the motorcyclist hit the passenger side of the patrol unit, police said.

Officials said the motorcyclist was identified as 24-year-old Patrick Freeland, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said that an officer inside the patrol vehicle suffered injuries and was taken to the hospital, but was discharged after receiving treatment.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
