A 22-year-old man was seriously injured Saturday afternoon when his motorcycle was involved in a crash on Cape Cod.
Bourne police say they responded around 2 p.m. to the area of 6 Head of the Bay Road for a reported motor vehicle accident involving a motorcycle. Officers arrived on scene and found the motorcyclist, a 22-year-old Taunton man, laying on the ground with suspected serious injuries.
He was flown to an area hospital by a Boston MedFlight helicopter, police said. There was no immediate update on his condition and his name has not been released.
The SUV driver, an 84-year-old Bourne man, reported no injuries and remained on scene, police said.
Head of the Bay Road remained closed while officers conducted their on-scene investigation Saturday.
Police haven’t said if anyone will face charges, and further details about the crash haven’t been provided. The crash is currently under investigation by the Cape Cod Regional Law Enforcement Counsel crash reconstruction team.
