2 juveniles in custody, 1 at large after shooting leaves boy injured in Atascocita, HCSO says

ATASCOCITA, Texas (KTRK) — Two juveniles are in custody and a third is at large after one of them allegedly shot another juvenile in the arm at an Atascocita apartment complex Tuesday afternoon, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

The victim, who has only been identified as a boy, is in good condition, HCSO said.

The sheriff’s office said it happened just after 4 p.m. at the Bluewater at Balmoral apartment complex on Greens Road.

Deputies initially said the victim was walking through the complex when three other juveniles confronted him, but it appears the victim was sitting in an SUV and was meeting the teens for some kind of transaction.

HCSO said the victim was able to identify the accused shooter, and deputies subsequently went to his home on Dalmak Green Drive.

They said they found the suspect and two witnesses to the shooting in a garage.

The witnesses were detained and later released, but the suspect took off running and has yet to be located.
