A jet crash on Interstate 75 on Friday has left two people dead. Florida Highway Patrol said southbound lanes are closed on I-75 in Collier County following the crash. According to the Federal Aviation Administration, the crash happened near Naples around 3:15 p.m., and five people were on the Bombardier Challenger 600 jet.According to FHP, the jet struck a vehicle when it crashed.The Collier County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that two people have died. The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the crash.The jet was owned by Hop-A-Jet Worldwide Jet Charter and was coming from Ohio, NBC2 reported. The aircraft was supposed to land in Naples before heading to Fort Lauderdale. NBC2 reported Naples Airport Tower was in contact with the jet before the crash. The jet was cleared to make an emergency landing after the pilot said they’d lost both engines. This crash comes just days after a plane crashed into a Clearwater mobile home park, killing the plane’s pilot and two residents inside a home that was hit. The pilot reported an engine failure prior to the crash.
