17-year-old arrested in connection to deadly Orlando shooting

AND THIS IS FOOTAGE FROM THE SCENE EARLIER THIS MONTH ON LAWN BOULEVARD. WESH 2’S TONY ATKINS IS LIVE AT THE ORLANDO POLICE HEADQUARTERS AND TONY. YOU WERE LIVE ON THAT SCENE. THE MORNING IT ALL HAPPENED. MARY. YEAH, IT WAS A LONG NIGHT OF INVESTIGATING AND POLICE. FINALLY, AFTER NEARLY TWO WEEKS, THEY BELIEVE THEY HAVE THE PERSON THAT THEY ARE LOOKING FOR IN CUSTODY. THEY SAY THAT SUSPECT WAS A 17 YEAR OLD. I WANT TO SHOW YOU SOME VIDEO THAT WE GOT YESTERDAY FROM POLICE. YOU CAN SEE IT SHOWS OFFICERS WALKING THIS TEEN FROM POLICE HEADQUARTERS HERE INTO AN OPD CRUISER. NOW, WE AREN’T IDENTIFYING THE SUSPECT BECAUSE OF HIS AGE. HE’S ACCUSED OF SHOOTING A 19 YEAR OLD MAN ON JULY 14TH. THE SHOOTING HAPPENED JUST AFTER 11:30 P.M. ON LAWN BOULEVARD AT LAKE LAWN AVENUE. NOW, POLICE SAY THE VICTIM WAS SHOT AT THAT INTERSECTION. HE WAS SHOT INSIDE OF A CAR THAT CRASHED INTO A HOUSE DOWN THE STREET FROM WHERE THE SHOOTING HAPPENED. NOW, THE SUSPECT IS CHARGED WITH SEVERAL CRIMES, INCLUDING ROBBERY, MURDER, AS WELL AS SHOOTING INTO AN OCCUPIED VEHICLE.

A teenager the Orlando Police Department says was connected to a deadly shooting two weeks ago in a local neighborhood has been arrested.On July 14, at 11:35 p.m., officers responded to a car crash at Lawne Boulevard and Lake Lawne Avenue. Inside the vehicle, officers found the driver, 19-year-old Christopher Dumesle, suffering from a gunshot wound. Dumesle died at the scene. On Tuesday, detectives arrested a 17-year-old in connection with the homicide.The teen, who we are not identifying because of his age, has been charged with first-degree felony murder with a firearm, attempted robbery with a firearm, and shooting into an occupied vehicle.
