16-year-old boy dead, 2 other teens injured in Bronx shooting

THE BRONX, New York (WABC) — At least three people were shot, including one fatally, in the Bronx on Wednesday.

The shooting happened just after 5 p.m. at Broadway and West 238th Street.

Police say a 16-year-old boy was shot in the back, and pronounced dead at St. Barnabas Hospital.

A 15-year-old boy and 13-year-old girl were both taken to St. Barnabas in stable condition.

A witness said he saw a group of kids fighting in front of a bodega at the corner of Broadway and West 238thStreet.

He said the group then ran down 238thStreet where the shots rang out in front of a row of restaurants. He said the victims then ran back the other way and collapsed in front of the bodega where the fight originated.

No further details have been provided by police.

The investigation is ongoing.
