13-year-old found shot dead in Humble: Harris County Sheriff’s Office

HUMBLE, Texas (KTRK) — The Harris County Sheriff’s Office said that they are investigating the shooting death of a 13-year-old boy that happened at around 2 p.m. on Sunday in Humble.

HCSO said that deputies responded to an apartment complex at 9310 North Sam Houston Parkway E, near Wilson Road after receiving a call from a woman stating that a young boy had been shot.

When they arrived at the complex, one of the deputies found the victim with a gunshot wound, and he was pronounced dead on the scene, officials explained.

According to authorities, the woman who called 911 told them that she was in her room when she reportedly heard a gunshot.

The woman, who is the victim’s aunt according to officials, left her room and found the him on the floor.

HCSO said that detectives are speaking with two young boys who’d been with the victim inside the apartment, left the complex, and had returned by the time the sheriff’s office arrived.

Officials told ABC13 that it’s unclear if the shooting was was intentional, accidental, or negligent.

Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said that the crime scene investigation unit and homicide detectives are working on the case.
