12 Chinese restaurants open for Christmas Eve + Christmas Day in Charlotte

For many Charlotteans, Christmas traditions include more than just presents and pine needles — they also involve a plate of General Tso’s or a steaming bowl of noodles.

As families skip the stress of cooking or look to keep the holiday lowkey, Chinese restaurants across the city are once again stepping up for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

From longtime neighborhood favorites to upscale dining rooms, several spots will keep the woks hot while much of the city takes the day off.

Here’s where you can find Chinese food in Charlotte during the holiday.

Asian Grill

Where: 3913 Providence Rd. S, Waxhaw, NC 28173

The Waxhaw restaurant will be open from 11:30 a.m.-8:30 p.m. on Christmas Eve, and only for takeout on Christmas Day from 11 a.m.-8 p.m.

BaoBao

Where: 9715 Sam Furr Rd C, Huntersville, NC 28078

The Lake Norman-area eatery that specializes in dim sum and Chinese cuisine will be open from 11 a.m.-9 p.m. on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Cherry House II

Where: 7631 Sharon Lakes Rd., UNIT C, Charlotte, NC 28210

Cherry House II will be open from 10:30 a.m.-10 p.m. on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Dragon Buffet

Where: 8170 S. Tryon St., Charlotte, NC 28273

The buffet will be open from 11:30 a.m.-9:30 p.m. on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Jasmine Buffet

Where: 2305 Westinghouse Blvd., Suite A, Charlotte, NC 28273

The buffet, featuring more than 200 selections, will be open from 11 a.m.-9 p.m. on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Lee Cafe

Where: 1046 Regent Pkwy #107, Fort Mill, SC 29715

The cafe will be open regular hours (11 a.m.-3 p.m., 5-9:15 p.m.) on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Lotus

Where: 163 E Plaza Dr, Mooresville, NC 28115

The popular Mooresville eatery will be open from 11 a.m.-9 p.m. on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, but customers should call ahead of time for reservations.

Panda’s Den

Where: 5724 E. W.T. Harris Blvd E, Charlotte, NC 28215

The restaurant doesn’t accept reservations, but it’ll be open from 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Christmas Eve and Christmas Day for dine-in and carryout orders.

Riceblossom

Where: 8418 Park Rd, Charlotte, NC 28210

The restaurant formerly known as Taste of SHU will be open from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. and from 4:30-9:30 p.m. on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Shun Lee Palace

Where: 4340 Colwick Rd Charlotte, NC 28211

The Myers Park-area Chinese eatery will be open regular hours on Christmas Eve and from 11 a.m.-9:30 p.m. on Christmas Day.

Taipei Express

Where: 731 Providence Rd., Charlotte, NC, 28207

The restaurant is inviting diners to spend the holiday with them, with hours from 11 a.m.-9:30 p.m. on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Wan Fu Quality Chinese Cuisine

Where: 10719 Kettering Dr., Charlotte, NC 28226

The south Charlotte Chinese restaurant will be open from 4-9 p.m. on Christmas Day. The restaurant will be open during normal hours on Christmas Eve, but diners should call 704-541-1688 to make reservations for either day.

YaMe Asian Noodles

Where: 4435 Park Rd #300, Charlotte, NC 28209

The Montford noodle spot will be open from 11 a.m.-9 p.m. on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
