1 shot, killed by deputies in Johnston County, authorities say

JOHNSTON COUNTY, N.C. (WTVD) — One person was shot and killed by Johnston County deputies Sunday morning

It happened around 11:40 a.m. on Madden Rose Looper off Pearce Road in the Cleveland community.

Deputies responded to a call about someone firing a gun inside a home. Upon arrival, this person confronted them with a firearm. Despite efforts to get the person to drop the weapon, the situation escalated, resulting in them being shot and killed.

Their name has not been released, and no deputies were injured.
