A fatal four-vehicle crash in downtown DC has claimed at least one life, possibly a pedestrian.
WASHINGTON — At least one person is dead after a four-vehicle crash in heavily trafficked Downtown DC.
Wednesday evening, DC Police were called to what they described as a “major crash” at the intersection of 16th and L streets, Northwest, at the peak of DC rush hour.
They reported that they were at the scene of the crash around 4:30 p.m. via social media.
When they arrived, they found a man who was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say the man may have been a pedestrian.
It is unclear if the driver remained at the scene.
Evening drivers can expect street closures. Officials are encouraging drivers to seek alternate routes as they continue to investigate.
We have a crew at the scene gathering more information. We’ll provide additional updates as they become available.
