SOUTH PLAINFIELD, New Jersey (WABC) — Fire tore through a South Plainfield home early Wednesday, killing one person and injuring two others.
Flames broke out on Cedarbrook Avenue just before 5:15 a.m. in what appeared to be a gas-fed fire.
Firefighters raced to the scene, pulling one resident out of the house.
Another resident escaped the smoke and flames by jumping from a second-floor window.
Those two residents are being treated for their injuries, and a third resident was found in the home, but was pronounced dead.
Firefighters stretched lines over the snow, digging out a hydrant across the street.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
