1 dead, 2 injured in shooting at SW Houston apartment parking lot, HPD says

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — One person is dead and two others were injured when a shooting broke out at an apartment complex in southwest Houston overnight, according to police.

Officers with the Houston Police Department said the scene unfolded a little after 10 p.m. Saturday, when a group of people in a car pulled into the parking lot of an apartment complex on El Camino Del Rey.

Police said there was already another vehicle there that began shooting at the incoming car. At least three people were shot and taken to the hospital.

HPD said it’s possible there was an exchange of gunfire between the two vehicles.

Additional details on what led to the shooting, or if the people inside the vehicles knew each other, remain unclear.
