1 dead, 1 hurt in overnight Midtown Sacramento shooting, police say

BOTH WERE TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL, WHERE ONE MAN WAS IMMEDIATELY PRONOUNCED DEAD AND THE OTHER AS OF LAST UPDATE, THIS MORNING, IS STILL BEING TREATED AT THAT HOSPITAL. HOMICIDE DETECTIVES AND CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATORS QUICKLY TAKING OVER THE INVESTIGATION. A man was killed and another wounded in a shooting in Sacramento’s Midtown area early Saturday, police said.Sacramento police said the shooting happened just before 1 a.m. in the area of 24th and J streets. Both men were taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds. One of the men was pronounced dead at the hospital and the other was in stable condition, police said. The homicide investigation was impacting traffic on J, 24th and 25th streets on Saturday morning. The focus centered in the area near Cornerstone Cafe and Bar. Police did not share possible suspect information. A man was killed and another wounded in a shooting in Sacramento’s Midtown area early Saturday, police said.

Sacramento police said the shooting happened just before 1 a.m. in the area of 24th and J streets.

Both men were taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds. One of the men was pronounced dead at the hospital and the other was in stable condition, police said.
