1 dead, 1 hospitalized in Mission District shooting; suspect arrested for murder

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — One person is dead and another is hospitalized with life-threatening injuries following a shooting in San Francisco’s Mission District on Sunday.

The San Francisco Police Department responded to the shooting around 12:25 a.m. near the intersection of 16th and Valencia streets.

“Officers were advised that two subjects were on the ground following an altercation,” SFPD said.”Officers arrived on scene and located two victims suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.”

Man who died in Big Sur identified; large-scale search called off for missing 5-year-old

The victims were taken to a local hospital. Despite life-saving efforts by doctors, one of the victims died of their injuries. The condition of the second victim is not known at this time.

SFPD officers found a gun while investigating the scene of the shooting. During the investigation, police identified 23-year-old Larry Hudgson Jr. of San Francisco as the suspect.

Five arrested in Fairfield police chase, loaded gun seized: PD

Hudgson was arrested in Visitacion Valley and booked into the San Francisco County Jail for murder. The case remains under investigation.
