Zendaya Wows Coachella With Surprise Labrinth Duet
[ad_1]
Coachella attendees got their OMG moment when 26-year-old superstar Zendaya hit the Mojave Tent at the Indio, California music festival Saturday night.
Making her first concert performance since her Replay tour concluded in January 2015—and first time singing on a stage since a few television appearances in 2016—the two-time Emmy-winner joined Labrinth for two numbers, “All For Us” and “I’m Tired.” Both tunes stem from her hit television series Euphoria. “All For Us” was incorporated into the first season soundtrack in 2019, and she recorded her own version for the show. “I’m Tired,” from season two, was co-written by Zendaya, Labrinth, and series creator Sam Levinson in 2022.
The shocking (and quickly viral) incident is proof of the agony and ecstasy of events like Coachella. Many fans who saw BLACKPINK on the main stage maybe just stayed put when that concluded, as Calvin Harris was due to appear later in the night. Or perhaps they hit another stage to see The Kid LAORI or Chromeo or Eric Prydz or Keinemusik, all of whom were performing at overlapping times. We bring this up as a way to perhaps soothe you, for one can actually be at Coachella and still suffer from Coachella FOMO! What a time in which we live.
Anyhow, for now, fan vids of Zendaya’s appearance are still live on YouTube and social media, though don’t be surprised if they are soon removed.
Labrinth, the 34-year-old British singer-producer whose given name is Timothy Lee McKenzie, also welcomed Sia to the stage during the same set. The previous weekend, he called up Billie Eilish. Suggestion: if Labrinth ever invites you over to his apartment to play backgammon, accept the invitation. Impossible to know who else might pop by!
On her Instagram Stories, the Greatest Showman and Spider-Man: No Way Home co-star wrote, “thank you to my brother @labrinth for inviting me and giving me the most beautiful safe space to be on a stage again. And to the crowd tonight … Wow. My heart is full, I can’t thank you enough for the love I received tonight, [it] made my nerves melt away. I’m so grateful.” She included a heart and shooting star emoji.
