Zendaya just wore the ‘Challengers’ movie poster as a dress

If there were to be a museum dedicated to Zendaya’s Challengers press tour looks, this latest dress would surely be the main event.
The actor and her superstar stylist Law Roach continued to out-do themselves just as Zendaya’s latest film hit cinemas this week. Zendaya stepped out in a custom-made dress made by Greek designer Celia Kritharioti, which depicted a glittery version of the official Challengers poster.
Roach shared photos on Friday of Zendaya wearing the glitzy, long-sleeved dress on Instagram, along with a behind-the-scenes snapshot of the dress being made. The poster/ dress depicts Zendaya’s tennis star character Tashi Duncan wearing sunglasses and watching Josh O’Connor’s Patrick and Mike Faist’s Art Donaldson face off on the court.
“[Challengers] but make it FASHION,” Roach wrote in the caption. “Tashi Made Her Wear It. Thank you @celiakritharioti for bringing the Challengers Movie Poster to life.”

Zendaya has taken her tennis-themed press tour looks to the next level over the last few months leading up to the film’s release and has inspired a new #TennisCore trend. From her sparkly mini dress and Loewe tennis ball heels to her most recent cut-out pink polo dress from designer Jacquemus, the couture has been nonstop. She even paid homage to Venus and Serena Williams by recreating a 1998 photoshoot of the two tennis star sisters by wearing a Carolina Herrera ballgown and her shoulder-length hair adorned in white beads. The actor has been known to be on-theme for promo; while on the press tour for Dune: Part 2, Zendaya had seemingly endless futuristic, desert-inspired looks.
Challengers was released in cinemas on Friday and centres around a tennis-themed love triangle between Tashi, Art, and Patrick over a 13-year period. The steamy film, directed by Luca Guadagnino and produced by Zendaya, has already got rave reviews and is expected to have a successful box-office debut.
