Barclays has launched a new offer for the Wyndham Rewards Earner Business Card. You can once again earn a welcome bonus of 75,000 points, but the spending requirement is much higher than what we’re used to. Check out the details of this 75K Wyndham Business card bonus below.

Applying for the Card

This offer is available only to applicants who are permanent residents of the United States, with the exception of Puerto Rico. This offer may not be available to you if you already have a credit card account with Barclays.

Barclay will usually only approve you for a card every 6 months. If you have a Barclay card, is better to put some spend on it before applying for another card. They don’t like dormant cardholders. There’s no real limit on the number of cards you can have with Barclay.

They also have a 6/24 rule. That means that they might not approve you if you’ve had more than 6 new cards in the last 24 months. I say might because we’re not sure if it still applies, and even before it was never really a hard rule.

Barclays business cards don’t report to personal credit reports.

About Wyndham Rewards

Wyndham Rewards boasts a total of more than 9,000 properties in its portfolio. Those hotels are categorized in 19 separate brands within the program, including a couple of boutique and luxury options.

Value wise, Wyndham Rewards points are probably worth about 1 cent each, but that can vary slightly, based on brand and specific property.

When it comes to earning points through stays, you get 10 points for each dollar spent on qualifying nights, or 1,000 points, whichever is higher. “Qualifying nights” include paid nights with an average nightly rate of $25 or more per night. Elite members earn more. You get a 10% bonus as a Gold member, 15% for Platinum and 20% for Diamond. You can also earn points by using the Wyndham credit cards, or you can transfer points from Capital One miles to Wyndham Rewards at a 2:1.5 transfer ratio.

Wyndham is a simple program for redeeming points. There are three tiers that cost 7,500, 15,000 or 30,000 points per night. There is no dynamic pricing or peak and no-peak season variations. Wyndham also gives members the option to combine points with cash. You will need 1,500, 3,000, or 6,000 points plus cash to book these stays. You can also redeem points at Wyndham Vacation Clubs, Caesars Entertainment destinations, Vacasa bookings and by transferring to 10 transfer partners, nine of which are airline frequent flyer programs.

Guru’s Wrap-up

This is a decent bonus, but we saw a 90,000 points offer two years ago. The spending requirement much higher than previous offers, but you also have a full year to complete it, in order to earn this Wyndham Business card 75K bonus.

It’s worth noting that this is a business card, which is important for those trying to stay under Chase 5/24.
