“The future we envision for work allows for infinite virtual workspaces that will unlock social and economic opportunities for people regardless of barriers like physical location. It will take time to get there, and we continue to build toward this.” – Andrew Bosworth, VP Facebook Reality Labs
Swap sky scrapers for greenery.
Substitute city noise for bushveld song.
Let the African night sky, and its twinkling stars take your breath away.
Instead of sitting in traffic on your way home, climb into a Land Rover and have an unforgettable evening watching male lions on their territory patrol.
Skip the crowded offices and elevators, and soak in the expansive stillness of nature.
More and more, we have noticed that individuals and families are seeking out experiences not only for their vacations, but making it work with their day-to-day lives too. You no longer need to take lengthy days of leave to travel the world. Working remotely has become an increasingly popular option for many professionals, as it allows for a greater level of flexibility and the ability to work from anywhere in the world with an internet connection.
Whether you’re looking to bring you office to Africa for a while, or just looking for a vacation, Londolozi can provide you with the perfect working solution.
Today I thought I’d share a few of the ways that you can make the most of working remotely on safari…
First and foremost, it’s critical to have a reliable internet connection.
Across all 5 Londolozi Camps, there is a selection of luxury and private camps to fit any kind of traveller. You needn’t worry about staying connected to the world as all of our rooms in all 5 camps are equipped with state-of-the-art Wi-Fi, sufficient enough to participate in video meetings.

The beautiful view from a Private Granite Suite
Next, you’ll be needing a suitable workspace.
We’ve got you covered on this too! We offer a wide range of accommodation options, including a private homestead, and luxury suites that each possess their own workspace desks (some having more than one space) and other necessary amenities for you to get some work done.

Every suite in Pioneer Camp has a desk looking out over the Sand River
But my personal choice for a workspace would be out with nature from the comfort of your private deck. Picture this. You are plugging away at your laptop, writing in your notebook, or taking a meeting, you look up, and all around you is expansive beautiful wilderness – in the heart of the African bushveld. I can’t think of a more inspiring and serene scene to provide a better backdrop to a work day.
Whether you’ve set yourself up indoors at the desk space in your suite, or if you have chosen to sit outdoors, you are guaranteed to work in perfect stillness. Nature has so many wonderful powers – it heals, rejuvenates, calms, and rouses your energy. I find I am at my most productive when I am sitting in nature. The saying “enjoying some peace and quiet”, seriously resonates with me, I live it every day here at Londolozi – working in utter peace and quiet will set you up for complete calm, stripping all distractions away. It’s just you, and nature (and your laptop).
You won’t miss out on game drives when you work remotely on safari
Just because you are working, does not mean you have to miss out on all the fun. It is always a good idea to establish a routine and set boundaries when working remotely. What better way to really earn your deserved work break, than hopping onto your morning and afternoon safari – beginning and ending the day with thrilling adventure, or cooling off during our warm summer days in your private plunge pool.
If you wish, we will bring your meals to you in your room at your preferred time so as to not disturb your work day. We encourage you to soak in your tranquil surroundings and enjoy your working hours in a setting different from what you are used to. But make sure to take those breaks to recharge – this may really help in ensuring you disconnect from work when you need to.

Tailored bodywork at the Londolozi Healing House
Finally, don’t forget to take full advantage of your surroundings! Maybe you have time to book a massage at the Healing House or visit the gym? Londolozi is home to an array of magnificent wildlife and natural beauty, be sure to take some time to explore and treasure all that the reserve has to offer you.
If you’re looking for an exciting and unique remote working experience, come join us at Londolozi and work remotely on safari. We would love to know if you work remotely and what essentials you would need for a couple days working from Londolozi…
