A woman was raped and sexually assaulted by a stranger outside a Chelsea church, cops said Friday.
The 37-year-old victim was walking by the corner of W. 26th St. and Ninth Ave. about 11:30 p.m. Thursday when her attacker, who investigators described as a man in his 20s sporting a large nose ring, approached her, cops said.
The man lured the woman to a courtyard behind Manor Community Church on W. 26th St. where he sexually assaulted her, police said.
Cops called to the scene found the woman bleeding from scratches to her back and mouth. Medics took her to Lenox Health Greenwich Village Hospital for treatment.
Her attacker was last seen running east on W. 26th St. He’s believed to be 5-foot-4 with black curly hair and at the time of the attack was wearing black pants and a black shirt.
No arrests have been made.
