Woman Dies After Becoming Ill On Flight To Charlotte – WCCB Charlotte’s CW

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A 41-year-old woman died after becoming ill on an American Airlines flight from the Dominican Republic to Charlotte.

The flight, American Airlines 2790, was serviced from Punta Cana, Dominican Republic to Charlotte on Wednesday, February 28th. It diverted to Providenciales International Airport due to a passenger feeling ill mid-flight and needing medical assistance.

First responders met the aircraft once it landed and transported the female passenger to a local hospital where she later died.

The name of the woman was not immediately released.

A post-mortem will be conducted to ascertain the cause of death, official said.

The flight continued its path to Charlotte later that day.
