Winsome Warmth Into April – WCCB Charlotte’s CW

[ad_1]

We’ll need to watch Tuesday night’s system carefully for a few strong storms.

Happy Easter! With a high of 84° this Sunday afternoon, this Easter has been the warmest the Charlotte area has seen since 2011. It may get even warmer as we kick off April. Stiff breezes out of the southwest will pair with abundant sunshine to bring the mid-80s back to the Piedmont and Foothills. The Queen City’s record high for April 1st is 86°; highs may come dangerously close on Monday. You’ll notice more clouds building in by Monday night ahead of Tuesday’s system as lows only dip into the 60s around the Metro.

While the severe threat on Tuesday isn’t high, a few gusty storms are possible north and west of Charlotte are we head into the evening. Despite overcast skies, highs will again top out in the mid-80s across the Piedmont and Foothills. A few showers or an isolated storm may linger into the early morning hours on Wednesday, but most will dry out by the afternoon – although areas east of the Metro may see a storm later in the day. Much colder air filters in behind the midweek system; significant snow is possible in the High Country Wednesday and Thursday while frosty mornings are likely for lower elevations to end the workweek.

Tonight: Variable clouds. Mild. Low: 62°. Wind: SW 5-10.

Monday: Partly cloudy early, then mostly sunny. Very warm. High: 84°. Wind: SW 5-15. Gusts: 20+

Monday Night: Clouds build. Even milder. Low: 68°. Wind: SW 5-15. Gusts: 20+

Tuesday: Cloudy. Scattered storms late. High: 84°. Wind: SW 10-20. Gusts: 25+
