Harry replied: ‘That’s well said.’

Serena Williams spoke in the documentary about the gospel choir at the wedding, saying it was ‘courageous’

The Sussexes’ six-part show has become the streaming giant’s most-watched documentary in a premier week, debuting with 81.55 million hours viewed.

Another famous friend showing Meghan support in the documentary was Tennis star Serena Williams.

She said her friend was ‘courageous’ for choosing music from her culture at her wedding.

At the wedding, The Kingdom Choir gospel group performed Stand By Me and This Little Light Of Mine.

Speaking briefly in the Netflix documentary, Serena said: ‘To have her [Meghan’s] culture represented at that wedding was amazing. I loved it.

‘And I thought it was really courageous and breaking boundaries without trying to.’

Meghan’s friend, Dhru Purohit, an entrepreneur and podcast host, added: ‘We had this massive moment where myself, Oprah, Idris Elba, his partner, we all looked at each other for a brief moment and had a little bit of a chuckle.

‘Nobody needed to say anything because everybody knew exactly the layers of symbolism that were taking place that day.’

The wedding featured The Kingdom Choir, which was created especially for the big day and conducted by award-winning Karen Gibson.

Speaking in the documentary, Prince Harry said there was ‘no pushback’ on that idea.

He said: ‘Everyone was like “a gospel choir, oh that’s great”. And again there was more help from my dad on that.’

Meghan added: ‘He said they could take the best singers from gospel choirs and put them together – and that’s how The Kingdom Choir came to be.

‘They were great.’
