“They went back to the future or back to 1985.”

Revere police are stepping up traffic enforcement after a speeding car crashed through the middle of a rotary.

The incident, which happened on the night of March 16 on Route 107, was caught on surveillance video. Revere police shared the footage on social media and said the increased traffic enforcement in Revere is meant to “prevent accidents like this from occurring at Brown Circle.”

In the video, a white car is seen speeding toward the rotary. Instead of slowing down and traveling around the traffic circle, the car hits the curb and bounces through its grass center. The vehicle continues traveling until it’s out of sight.

Police didn’t say whether anyone was hurt. It’s unclear if the driver was ticketed or will face charges.

The video collected over 100 comments on Revere police’s Facebook page, with several commenters claiming they’ve witnessed similar instances at Brown Circle.

“This happens way more than people think, every week there’s new tire tracks or broken signs and walls in that rotary,” wrote one person.

Another commenter quipped, “They went back to the future or back to 1985.”
