Former President Donald Trump has elected his running mate, a senior campaign official told ABC News.

Florida Sen. Marco Rubio has been told he is not Trump’s running mate pick, five sources familiar with the matter tell ABC News.

Trump’s pick is expected to be announced at some point Monday.

The decision will come after months of speculation about who his running mate will be.

Rubio was previously on a long list of vice presidential shortlisters including Ohio Sen. JD Vance, North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum and South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott, ABC News sources say.
