AND YES, THEY DO HAVE AN AGREEMENT FOR A NEW BALLPARK, BUT THEY STILL HAVE NOT BROKEN GROUND. THAT’S STILL YEARS AWAY. THIS CERTAINLY MAY HAVE SPED THINGS UP. BUT WE’VE SEEN PORTIONS JUST GET BLOWN OFF FLOATING THROUGH THE NIGHT SKY AND REMEMBER, LOOK, THIS IS HOW THE TROP WAS SET UP. SET UP AS A TEMPORARY SHELTER FOR FIRST RESPONDERS. THIS IS VIDEO FROM EARLIER IN THE WEEK. IF WE CAN TAKE THAT, IT WILL SHOW THE FIELD LINED WITH COTS. GOVERNOR DESANTIS SAID 10,000 PEOPLE WERE USING THAT AS A BASE CAMP. IT CERTAINLY WE DON’T KNOW IF THERE WERE ANY INJURIES. WE DON’T KNOW WHAT THE SCENARIO IS AFTER THIS, BUT THAT’S A LOT OF BEDS. THAT’S A LOT OF PEOPLE THAT WERE SUPPOSED TO BE SAFE INSIDE THAT BUILDING. CERTAINLY DEALING WITH A LOT OF DAMAGE OVER THERE IN SAINT PETERSBURG. WE’LL HAVE MORE INFORMATION ON THAT AS WE GET IT. BUT FOR NOW, YOU CAN JUST SEE THE IMAGES. CERTAINLY NO BASEBALL BEING PLAYED THERE. THE BASEBALL PLAYOFFS ARE GOING ON RIGHT NOW, SO THINGS COULD HAVE BEEN A WHOLE LOT WORSE. Tropicana Field, home of the Tampa Bay Rays, had its roof blown off Wednesday night as Hurricane Milton made landfall just south of the Tampa metro area. ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. —

Tropicana Field, home of the Tampa Bay Rays, had its roof blown off Wednesday night as Hurricane Milton made landfall just south of the Tampa metro area.

The stadium in St. Petersburg was being used to house thousands of first responders before and during the storm that made landfall as a Category 3 storm.
