We are big, BIG fans of Made In’s cookware. Everything they make, from their nonstick fry pans to their stainless-steel skillets, is designed to withstand anything that restaurant chefs and home cooks can put them through. The detailed craftsmanship that goes into Made In’s pieces shows up in how enjoyable they are to use and even clean, and because their kitchen tools are built with the experience of 100 years of creating cookware for professional chefs, we trust this gear to last.

That commitment to quality of course extends to Made In’s cutlery, and today they restocked their bestselling chef’s knife in a brand-new color that you don’t see too often in kitchenware: forest green. Officially named Hudson Green, this dark emerald hue is an entirely new color collection now available in Made In’s Dutch ovens, cast-iron skillets, and nonstick pans. The color was designed in collaboration with “Top Chef” alum Brooke Williamson, and 15 percent of all proceeds from the Hudson Green collection will be donated to the No Kid Hungry charity.

The 6-inch blade on this tool is shorter than a typical chef’s knife — they’re usually around 8 inches long — which makes it a little easier to maneuver and get a lot of chopping done when you don’t have much counter space to work on. That smaller size also comes in handy when you’re carving whole chickens or large cuts of meat and need to be able to move the blade around without the end of it getting caught on parts of the animal.

It’s made of stainless steel and has a full-tang construction, meaning the blade and handle are one continuous piece of metal (with the green handle pieces secured to the sides to create a grip). By building it that way, as opposed to constructing the handle and blade separately and attaching them together, this knife has fewer weak points where it could possibly break. That makes it a more reliable cutting tool (because the blade will never become wobbly) and a safer tool (because it can’t fall apart while you’re using it).

At $129, this chef’s knife is well worth the investment in your kitchen and in your cooking. This is the kind of reliable knife that will become your go-to for everyday chopping, slicing, and dicing, and it will last for years without you having to do any significant maintenance. Check out the rest of Made In’s Hudson Green collection, especially their stylish cast-iron set and nonstick set, and upgrade your kitchen with some world-glass gear. This timeless green color is available in limited quantities, so if it catches your eye you might want to act fast.
