The Atlanta Voice brings home 6 NNPA Messenger Awards from annual convention

BALTIMORE, MD. – The Atlanta Voice earned six awards for journalistic excellence at this year’s National Newspaper Publishers Association (NNPA) Messenger Awards, which took place at the Four Seasons Baltimore. The annual awards took place on Thursday evening inside the Cobalt Ballroom on the hotel’s second floor.

The Atlanta Voice won two first place awards for health coverage, the Emory O. Jackson award, and fashion, the Ada S. Franklin award. There were also three second place awards given for environment, faith/religion, and original photography. The third place award for original advertising campaign was also awarded to The Atlanta Voice.

Karen Carter Richards, the publisher and CEO of The Forward Times and Robert “Bob” Bogle, president of the Philadelphia Tribune gave opening remarks before the awards ceremony began.
