Temperatures Ramp Up – WCCB Charlotte’s CW

[ad_1]

Areas south of the Metro may flirt with the 80s come Thursday.

Sunny skies and cooler highs have greeted the Carolinas as we close out the weekend, but temperatures are on the rise as we head into the heart of March. That said, widespread frost and freeze is in the forecast tonight as lows dip near, at, and below the 32° mark. Despite the frigid start, most communities in the Piedmont and Foothills will crack 60° to kick off the workweek. Even warmer air wanders into the WCCB Charlotte viewing area as winds build in from the south.

Highs will top out near 70° around the Metro on Tuesday, and the warm-up shows no signs of slowing down into midweek. Highs may even approach 80° south of I-85 on Thursday. Mostly sunny skies will continue through the penultimate day of the workweek before clouds arrive ahead of a rainmaking system that arrives by Friday evening. Showers may linger into the weekend as cooler air settles back into the Carolinas by St. Patrick’s Day Sunday.

Tonight: Clear and cold. Frost likely. Low: 32°. Wind: NW 5-15.

Monday: Sunny. A bit warmer. High: 62°. Wind: W 5-10.

Monday Night: Another chilly night. Frost NW. Low: 36°. Wind: W 5-10.

Tuesday: Nice and sunny. High: 69°. Wind: SW 5-10.
