DENVER (KDVR) — A 19-year-old was killed and another person was injured after a shooting broke out at a large party in Aurora late Saturday night.

The incident happened around 11:30 p.m. in the 2000 block of North Tower Road. The location is a rental hall that was rented out for the party, according to the Aurora Police Department.

Attendants of the party included minors and young adults, police said.

A 19-year-old man was found inside the building suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries, according to Aurora police.

Officers also found another man suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. He was taken to a local hospital and has since been released.

An argument between several people who knew each other led to the shooting, police said.

Both victims were shot inside the venue before people from the party made their way outside to the parking lot, according to police.

Additional shots were then fired throughout the parking lot, police said. However, there were no reports of any additional shooting victims.

Police asked anyone with information, including photos or video evidence of the altercation, to contact APD Detective Raines at 303-793-6068.

The investigation was ongoing.
