A lot of readers like to sign up for a new Target REDcard debit card once every 90 days to get the $40 coupon promo which is often available. They are now no longer approving new cards for those who recently closed them. One reader heard from a Target rep that you now need to wait one year before getting another card.
A couple of months back they stopped allowing the $40 coupon to be used twice, so it went from a $80 deal to a $40 deal. Now, they are limiting approvals to longer intervals. RIP
Going forward, some people might value the REDcard and just keep theirs. Other people might not care for it and just close their card out and see if they are eligible in another year.
