You can’t deny the power of the perfect pair of black ankle boots. But we don’t really need to go on and on about how they’re a staple—you already know the drill. Over the last few seasons, though, white booties have been creeping up as a must-have shoe silhouette. While they were considered the It trend of last fall and winter, the fashion elite is proving that the style isn’t going away anytime soon.
One of the biggest reasons? Well, as with black, white’s neutral, so these booties can technically go with just about anything in your wardrobe. Plus, they make any ensemble feel forward and special. Ahead, we’re highlighting how nine fashion girls are wearing white booties now to inspire new outfit ideas. We also rounded up a slew of styles we’re loving if you’re looking to refresh your current go-to pair or jump on the trend once and for all.

What can I say? I simply cannot handle wearing a pair of heels unless it’s a car-to-dinner-seat situation, especially if they are over 3 inches. Thankfully, the shoe gods have blessed me with a constant stream of flat shoe trends for almost a decade now—the last few years in particular. In fact, it’s rare as of late to see many of the fashion set out in the wild in heels. It’s now all about comfy shoes that don’t sacrifice style, even in the most formal of occasions. I wouldn’t have dared show up to an event like a wedding in anything but heels some years back, but times have definitely changed.
Such is the case when it comes to styling dresses in general. There are a plethora of flat shoes that go great with just about any style of dress now whether it be for an everyday outfit or the fanciest of party looks. Below, I share 6 of my top flat shoe styles to wear with dresses this season. From sneakers to ballet flats to a variety of sandals, there is a little something for everyone.
Using a soft cloth, apply your cleaning solution to the shoes in gentle, circular motions. If you’re dealing with difficult grass stains or embedded dirt, it’s perfectly acceptable to bring your brush from step one back into the picture. Keep a second bowl of clean, warm water handy to periodically rinse the cloth to ensure you don’t spread existing stains over the rest of the shoe.
As if Rihanna didn’t have enough to celebrate at the moment, between a record-breaking half time performance at the Super Bowl and a second baby on the way, she can also add turning 35 to the list. Naturally, the singer turned entrepreneur didn’t ring in another year as the world’s favorite billionnaire on the DL, at least not in the dressing department.
To mark the occasion, Rihanna was joined by A$AP Rocky, her best friend Melissa Forde, her brother, and more close friends and family at her go-to spot in L.A. Giorgio Baldi, where she showed up in four-inch, crystal-covered Louboutins aptly named the “Just Queen” sandals, an off-the-runway Bottega Veneta coat, vintage Gucci by Tom Ford accessories circa 2004 (sourced by the one and only Vintage By Misty), and a micro-mini look that defies fashion’s oldest rule: never wear white after Labor Day.
To clarify, we know that this particular style guideline is staler than the snacks we indulged in during the birthday girl’s epic show last Sunday. But it still goes to show that Rihanna continues to play by her rules and her rules only. To see her entire birthday look (as well as A$AP Rocky’s epic Loewe ensemble), keep on scrolling.
