While there’s no shortage of sales to shop this year, there was one, in particular, I was waiting for with bated breath: Reformation. You see, anyone in the know is well aware that this brand has some of the prettiest party dresses on the market, so anytime there’s a sale, you have to stock up. Luckily, the brand’s Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales just started. Running from November 22 to November 27, Reformation is offering 25% off everything—yes, everything. 

    For those with a stacked calendar this holiday season, you don’t want to sleep on this sale, as it has the perfect pieces for every occasion, including a winter wedding, a cocktail event, or even a gala.     If you’re in New York City or follow anyone on Instagram or TikTok who is, you’re probably already all too aware of the temperature situation. It’s New York Fashion Week, which means that everyone remotely involved in the industry is running around the city, attending presentations, runway shows, and parties, all the while dealing with near-100º temps, equally high levels of humidity, and intermittent thunderstorms and periods of blazing-hot sunshine. We’re surviving, sure, but it’s most definitely not comfortable.

    That being said, everyone’s on high alert when it comes to chic hot-weather outfits, scanning the crowds outside of shows for inspiration on what to wear to beat the heat. And while I don’t usually like to brag, I’m happy to do so right now after I spotted Sofia Richie Grainge wearing the perfect (albeit unexpected) garment for every New Yorkers’ current predicament: a nightgown. Specifically, a Prada nightgown from the Italian brand’s spring ’23 runway collection, which she paired with a burgundy Hermès Kelly bag and matching velvet Mary-Jane flats. She also accessorized with chunky gold hoops, black sunglasses, and a classic silver timepiece. The caption on her photos of the look? “97 in NYC = Prada night gown.” 

    Though I sadly won’t be able to quite afford Richie’s off-the-runway nightgown, the look is certainly inspiring me to get creative with my styling, putting aside normal dressing rules and picking out items that feel comfortable in this weather—even if they are typically worn to bed.     Hailey Bieber is in full summer mode, and there’s nothing we don’t love about her recent looks. Recently, she’s been photographed wearing tons of dresses, many in various shades of white. This weekend was no exception, as Bieber stepped out for lunch with friends in Malibu.

    For the outing, she wore what might be one of the cutest little white dresses you’ll see this summer. The dress comes from It-girl favorite brand Frankies Bikinis and is surprisingly still in stock. It comes in at $160 (a reasonable price for a celebrity-approved dress these days) and features a smocked bust and back, a corset-like bodice, and a ruffled skirt and trim. Bieber paired the dress with a handful of cool accessories, including a Nike baseball cap, a Saint Laurent Le 5 à 7 shoulder bag, and gold earrings. To finish her outfit, Bieber paired the dress with the It shoes fashion people continue to love: The Row’s Ginza flip-flops. With their leather straps and low platforms, they’re an elevated take on an iconic shoe style, which is likely why they’ve retained their popularity since their initial release in 2019. Naturally, Bieber chose a white pair to wear with her little white dress.

    Very few things excite me like a superb basic, which is why spotting photos of Sofia Richie in a maxi-length T-shirt dress on my feed last night was as effective at waking me up as the espresso I sipped on two hours earlier. Finding out that the dress—a simple, white number by The Row that she paired with a cognac-colored Celine belt, a sold-out The Row tote, and Saint Laurent sunglasses—has been in her rotation for months only added to the thrill of it all. That’s right—the newly married It girl wore the same dress back in 2021 in photos alongside then boyfriend (not even fiancée) Elliot Grainge. 

    Taken two years apart, the photos show the versatility and longevity of a T-shirt dress like this one that you can belt or wear on its own, not to mention wear hundreds of different ways that make it—a blank canvas—look entirely new. There’s only one problem: Not everyone (myself included) can afford to spend almost $900 on a dress, even one as timeless as Richie’s. Fortunately, I was able to find a $69 alternative at Nordstrom that will more than get the job done. Giorgio Baldi, where she showed up in four-inch, crystal-covered Louboutins aptly named the “Just Queen” sandals, an off-the-runway Bottega Veneta coat, vintage Gucci by Tom Ford accessories circa 2004 (sourced by the one and only Vintage By Misty), and a micro-mini look that defies fashion’s oldest rule: never wear white after Labor Day. 

    To clarify, we know that this particular style guideline is staler than the snacks we indulged in during the birthday girl’s epic show last Sunday.
