    “Halloween is what I wait for all year long,” said Skye Marinda. “It’s the time when everybody is a little more open to getting … witchy.”

    There are witches all throughout the Washington area. Real witches, that is, who can cast spells and conduct rituals.

    One self-acclaimed witch who wants to tell you your future is especially popular.

    “I think of myself as a witch and, for me, it’s a lot of setting intentions,” said Skye Marinda, who is known in the D.C. area for her tarot card reading skills. “I like to cast spells based on those intentions.”

    It almost goes without saying that witches relish Halloween.

    “Halloween is what I wait for all year long,” said Marinda. “It’s the time when everybody is a little more open to getting … witchy.”

    In the days before Halloween, Marinda is booked at parties doing tarot card readings. In her own time, she has already has taken part in a pre-Halloween ritual with other witches.

    “We got together in a circle … calling in the different elements, like water, air, fire, earth. We cast a spell together for Halloween,” she said.

    Marinda said she typically dresses in black, accented with crystal jewelry. While she forsakes wearing hats most of the year, she will occasionally wear the traditional, black-rimmed, pointed hat — most identifiable as a witches’ hat.

    Whatever you’ve heard about witches (of the good or bad variety), Marinda insists the spells she casts are always aimed at self improvement — and never to curse another person.

    “I don’t personally cast spells on people, because I think it’s not a good use of your energy,” she said. “It’s more about (helping) yourself out.”

    ‘Frenemy’ — The Tower

    There’s no denying that sonically, ‘Frenemy’ is an absolute bop. But the song itself is about the chaos of bipolar disorder. The Tower card is just like it looks. It represents chaos and destruction. Although it’s always temporary, it doesn’t necessarily make the situation easier.

    ‘Thank Me’ — Strength

    This is one of our favorite songs from the EP. ‘Thank Me’ is all about inner strength. Sometimes we don’t give ourselves enough credit, especially when mental illness is involved. Even just taking it one day at a time is an accomplishment!

    ‘How Are You Really?’ — The Hermit

    ‘How Are You Really?’ may be a short song title, but it packs a big question. Especially if “I’m fine” is your “go to line.” The Hermit represents introspection and self-reflection. If you ask yourself, you’ll find an answer to ‘How Are You Really?’

    “Why bother with the small talk?
    Let’s get to the hard stuff, like healing.”

    ‘Lifetime’ — The Star

    ‘Lifeline’ is about self-forgiveness. We chose The Star because it represents positivity and healing, especially after going through a difficult time. In the deck, it comes directly after The Tower card (like we said earlier, represents chaos and destruction), which makes it even more meaningful.

    ‘RIP’ — Death

    Okay, this one is kind of obvious, but it matches up perfectly. Just like ‘RIP,’ the Death card is all about transformation and rebirth. Despite its appearance, it’s honestly one of the most positive cards in the deck, in our opinion.

    “If I gotta bury the old me, I’ll dig my grave.
    Anything to save my sanity, gonna be born again.”

    Cho Yeo-Jung’s Tarot K-drama is an upcoming anthology horror series all set to premiere next week. It consists of seven nail-biting, spooky short stories revolving around tarot cards. Directed by Ashbun, the drama stars many A-list actors and celebrities.

    Prior to the K-drama, the CGV Korea network released the movie of the same name. The 90-minute film, which premiered on June 14, 2024, in theaters, contained the first three episodes of the series. It featured short stories starring Cho Yeo-Jung, Go Kyu-Pil, and Kim Jin-Young. Moreover, the Parasite movie actress’ segment was also nominated at the Cannes International Series Festival 2024.

    Meanwhile, U+ Mobile TV is set to broadcast the Tarot K-drama, consisting of seven episodes.

    Tarot K-drama: When is the release date? 

    The K-drama Tarot will premiere on Monday, July 15, 2024, on U+ Mobile TV. With a run-time of 30 minutes each, the episodes will air twice a week on Monday and Tuesday. Hence, the seven-episode drama will likely end on Monday, August 5, 2024.

    Tarot Korean drama: Who is in the cast? 

    Tarot 2024 Korean drama cast includes Cho Yeo-Jung, Park Ha-Sun, Dex, Go Kyu-Pil, Seo Ji-Hoon, Lee Joo-Bin, Kim Sung-Tae, Ham Eun-Jung, and Oh Yu-Jin.

    Yeo-Jung appears in the first episode, titled Santa’s Visit/Do You Believe in Santa? She plays Ji Woo, a departmental store worker and the mother of a young daughter. One day, she receives a tarot card for the “wheel of fortune,” and a series of unfortunate events begin to take place. When the events affect her daughter’s safety, Ji Woo’s life turns upside down. The actress is popularly known for her role in the Oscar-winning movie Parasite. She has also appeared in many dramas, such as Love in the Moonlight, Beautiful World, High Class, and Behind Every Star.

    The second episode, Please Throw Away/Delivery Call, will feature reality TV show star Dex. He plays Dong In, a delivery guy whose life changes after receiving a tarot card. Dex is making his debut in K-dramas with the upcoming series. Previously, he rose to fame for his appearance in the reality show Single’s Inferno Season 2. Later, he became one of the hosts for the next season.

    Actor Go Kyu-Pil will feature in Tarot episode 3, titled Going Home. He plays Gyeong-Rae, who falls in danger after taking a late-night taxi. The actor has appeared in many popular dramas, including Queen of Tears, The Midnight Studio, Frankly Speaking, and Backstreet Rookie.

    Meanwhile, the remaining actors will also perform pivotal roles in their respective episodes. Kim Sung-Tae and Ham Eun-Jung will feature in Couple Manager, while Park Ha-Sun’s episode name is Rental Mom. Oh Yu-Jin stars in Fishing, and Seo Ji-Hoon and Lee Joo-Bin’s episode title is Single Storage Box.

    Filmmaker Ashbun (Choi Byeong-Gil) has directed the series. In a press conference, he explained his vision and said, “Tarot explores the stories of individuals who possess the determination to resist fate. We endeavored to depict real-life characters with a documentary-style approach.”

    Tarot K-drama: What is it about?

    The upcoming South Korean drama Tarot features seven horror stories centered around the theme of tarot cards. According to MyDramaList, the synopsis reads, “Tarot unfolds as a series of seven omniverse horror episodes delving into mysterious events that could be part of anyone’s everyday life, all centered around the theme of tarot cards. The plot kicks off as the main characters each receive different tarot cards, and in that moment, find their destinies cursed by the twisted tarot cards.”

    Furthermore, the titles of the seven episodes are Santa’s Visit/Do You Believe in Santa?, Please Throw Away/Delivery Call, Going Home, Couple Manager, Rental Mom, Fishing, and Single Storage Box. The June 2024 movie has already released the first three stories and garnered appreciation from viewers.

    It’s New Years Day, and you know what that means: time to shake off your hangover, pull out your tarot cards, and do a year ahead reading! A year ahead reading gives you a bird’s eye view of the major events, influences, and energies in the year to come, from January to December. Although it sounds easy on the surface, a good year ahead reading can be tricky to pull off. You need to get into enough detail to give you useful information to work with—but you don’t want to pull so many cards that you end up with an impossible to-do list, or a bunch of specific predictions that don’t come true.

    Here’s how to do a year ahead reading that will give you a solid yet flexible roadmap for 2023.

    Why a 12-card spread isn’t always best

    The most common type of year ahead reading is a 12-card spread, with one card representing each month of the year. For example, January’s card might be the Chariot, which means forward momentum. Great! January’s the time to start a new project! Then, February’s card might be the 4 of Pentacles: holding onto resources or hoarding riches. So, you’ll make some money from the project you started in January? Then along comes March, represented by Death. Are we still talking about that project, or is this something new? Either way, March looks like it’ll be dramatic. And there are still nine cards to go!

    A 12-card spread will give you a really granular look at the upcoming year—and that’s not always a good thing. First off, too much information can get really confusing, really fast. The tarot isn’t infallible, and pulling too many cards can lead to a roller coaster reading that leaves you feeling overwhelmed. Secondly, the future isn’t written in stone! Even if a card seems plausible when you pull it in January, circumstances might have completely changed by October, rendering much of your year ahead reading pointless.

    That isn’t to say that a 12-card reading will never work. If it works for you, use it! However, I have a method that has served me well over the years: the seasonal reading.

    The seasonal year ahead tarot reading: how it works

    There are two ways to do this reading. If you prefer to work with individual cards, then your reading will consist of four cards total. If you prefer to group cards together so that they tell little stories, then you can do this reading with four groups of three cards each. (For more info on how to do the story method, see Alejandro Jodorowsky’s The Way of Tarot, or Camelia Elias’s Marseille Tarot: Towards the Art of Reading). Make sure you have something to write with, so you can take notes.

    First, lay down one or three cards for the winter solstice through the spring equinox (January to March). What major influences or events do the cards point to for winter? Is it going to be an active, busy season, or will it be more introspective? Will you enjoy ease and abundance, or will you have to be cautious and thrifty? Don’t look at the card(s) as a rigid, inflexible prediction. Instead, look at it as a snapshot of how conditions are likely to be for you.

    Next, lay down one or three cards for the spring equinox through the summer solstice (April to June). Again, don’t look for specific predictions so much as general energies. What will you have to work with? What will you need to work against?

    Repeat the process for the summer solstice through the fall equinox (July to September) and then the fall equinox through the winter solstice (October to December).

    After you’ve looked at each season, take a step back and see if you can identify any pattern or arc for the year as a whole. Do the cards point to anything major happening, or does the year ahead look pretty chill? If you have goals for the year, are there any seasons that look auspicious for getting them done?

    This reading should give you enough information to create a rough plan for your year, without bogging you down with tons of details that may turn out to be irrelevant. Plus, you can always draw a couple more cards if you find that you don’t have quite enough information to work with yet.
