Using Fuel Points
For every 100 points are worth $0.10 off per gallon on your fill up of up to 20 gallons, or 30 gallons in some states. The more you can pump in one transaction, the better the deal gets. If you buy more than one gift card, you’ll obviously get more points. But you can only redeem up to 1500 points per transaction at some locations, which is $1.50 off per gallon. Some places you can use even more, up to free gas. Points can be redeemed at gas stations at these supermarkets, or participating Shell locations which can be found here.

Guru’s Wrap-up
We have seen offers for as much as 4X points on these purchases in the past. So this is not one of the best gift card deal at Stop&Shop, Giant, or Martin’s. However, we haven’t seen those better deals in a while.
You can use the points for savings on gas or groceries, all while also earning cashback or rewards with one of the best credit cards for grocery purchases. With a $500 gift card, you would pay a $6.95 activation fee. But you would earn up to $30 back in credit card rewards, and $10 in grocery savings at your Stop&Shop, Giant or Martin’s locations. You can save even more if you use your points for gas purchases.
Keep in mind that recently, some locations have introduced new restrictions. You will only earn points on the first Visa/Mastercard gift card purchase during the promotion period. So make sure to maximize it with a $2,000 purchase if your location has those limits. If you’re not sure, you can try a $500 purchase after that to see if you still earn points.
