    Here’s a reminder that September 2, 2024 is the final day we can earn 40,000 points for referring a friend to the Chase INK card.

    We’re finishing now two golden months where we can refer friends to the Chase INK Preferred card for 100,000 points which can then be matched to 120,000 points via secure message; and the referrer gets 40,000 points.

    That’s a total haul of 160,000 points between the referrer and the new member. I consider this to be from the best deals of all time. This will end on September 2nd (or possibly earlier if Chase pulls the 120,000 points INK Preferred offer).

    If you have any Chase INK card you can refer a friend to signup for the INK Preferred card. And of course this 40,000 points bonus is useful for referring friends to other Chase INK cards as well. I’m highlighting here the INK Preferred option since that’s an excellent time-limited deal on its own.

    The referrer can earn up to 200,000 referral points per INK card they possess. For example, I hold an INK Cash card an INK Unlimited card and an INK Preferred card. I can refer 5 friends to any INK card using my INK Cash referral link and earn 200,000 points. Separately, I can refer 5 friends to any INK card using my INK Unlimited card link and earn 200,000 points. Separately, I can refer 5 friends to any INK card using my INK Preferred referral link and earn 200,000 points. I’ll get a 1099 from Chase for the referrer bonuses if I earn more than 60,000 points from all my referrals (i.e. if I refer two friends and earn 80,000 points I’ll get a 1099 from Chase, even if I use different referral links for the two friends).

    Chase INK Referrals Slated To Go Down From 40k to 20k In September – Doctor Of Credit

    The refer-a-friend bonus on the family of Chase INK cards is slated to change from the current 40,000 points per referral down to the old 20,000 points offer.

    As of 9/3/2024, you’ll no longer earn 40,000 bonus points for each business. Instead, you’ll earn 20,000 bonus points for each business, up to 10, that gets approved.

    The limit of 200,000 points will remain the same, and the referral total goes from 40k five times to 20k ten times.

    The 40k deal started back in early 2023 and will end on September 2, 2024.

    Honestly this 40k referral offer is insanely good. And it’s on top of excellent signup bonuses on the cards as well. I was able to get a few of these giant 40k bonuses by swapping referrals with my brother (we each apply using the other’s link); it really turbocharges the signup bonus.

    Update 3/13/24: a Reddit user notes that you can see the 10x offer tracked in the details of the referral bonus, found within your Amex login. It should show in your Points Summary as a string of letters with an addendum of “10 BNS”. For example, you might see a string of letters like this: K74G:0006 b 10 BNS

    Update 3/6/24: a reddit user confirmed with Amex that this 10x will stack with the 10x from a prior signup bonus on the Platinum card, and a total of 20x can be earned at Restaurants if you have both of these.

    The Offer

    Check your American Express login or app for the following targeted offer:

    • Refer a friend to an American Express card by 5/22/24 and get bonus points – some people are seeing 25,000, some 20,000, some 15,000, some 10,000.
    • Also get 10x Membership Rewards points per dollar spent at restaurants worldwide for 3 months, on up to $25,000.

    The Fine Print

    • 10x bonus is on top of what you already earn on your Card.
    • This offer can only be redeemed once.
    • Offer ends 05/22/2024.

    Our Verdict

    This offer is showing for some people and not others. The following cards might show this offer: Gold personal and business, Platinum personal and business, BCE, BCP, Delta cards, BBC, BBP. As usual, it won’t matter which card the new member signs up for – as long as they use the link from the referrer card showing the 10x offer.

    This can potentially be maxed out at 275,000 bonus points for a single referral. Most people won’t be able to max it out, yet many will still find it a sweet deal.

    Some of the links are showing nice offers for the new member too while others are showing subpar offers. Regardless, it might make sense for someone in 2-player mode to swallow a lower bonus in order to facilitate the referrer getting their bonus.

    Original Post 1/9/24:

    We received a neat tip from usccstrategy which simplifies figuring out which card you used when referring a friend to an Amex card:

    • Look at your rewards transactions showing the referrer bonus. You’ll see there a string of letters/numbers attached to each referral bonus. Example:
    • See in the above screenshot one of the referrals is described as “K3QE” and one is described as “K3YC”.
    • Next, check your referral link. Look at the full expanded version of the link. Near the end of the long link you’ll see the 4-digit code which represents the card for referrals. That code will correspond to the code you see in the login.

    For example, one code I checked ends with “92-201279-K50U%3A9997&v=1&xl=cp10gx”. If that card would refer a friend, they would see “K50U” in their rewards login. Cool.

    American Express made some big changes to six Delta SkyMiles credit cards, adding new benefits while also increasing annual fees. Card Members can earn up to $560 for Reserve, $610 for Reserve Business, $390 for Platinum, $410 for Platinum Business, $300 for Gold, and $350 for Gold Business in annual statement credits. New credits include a Resy Credit which can be used at U.S. Resy restaurants, a Rideshare Credit, and a Delta Stays Credit to use on prepaid Delta Stays bookings on delta.com.

    But it seems that American Express also made another change at the same time. The three Delta business credit cards are no longer available through most referral links.

    Until last month, if you had one of the non-cobranded cards, you could refer others to apply for consumer and business Delta cards. Now only consumer Delta cards show up through those referral links. Even those with consumer Delta credit cards can not refer to the business versions.

    Chase today began allowing cross-referrals between the Sapphire Reserve and Sapphire Preferred card. Someone with a Sapphire Reserve card can now refer a friend to either the Sapphire Reserve or Sapphire Preferred card. And someone with a Sapphire Preferred card can now refer to either the Sapphire Preferred or Sapphire Reserve card.

    Find your referral link for any Chase card on this Chase webpage. Currently the referrer bonus for Sapphire cardholders is 15,000 per referral, up to 75,000 per year. No referrals in the comments below.
