    A surprise special guest appeared in the latest episode of Fox sitcom “Call Me Kat”.

    Dolly Parton, who appeared in a video to eulogize late cast member Leslie Jordan, who died in October in a car accident at age 67.

    “I know usually at a memorial, people talk about somebody. Well, I’m going to talk to you,” Parton began in the video, which appeared toward the end of the episode, reports TVLine.

    “Because there is that place on the other side, and I’m certainly going to see you there, little brother. You left a lot of people here with a lot of precious, precious memories. Everybody loved you, but I doubt many of them loved you more than I did,” Parton continued.

    “I just want you to know that we all love you, we all miss you, and I bet you’re having a big laugh over all of us being sad and sorrowful,” she added.

    “And I know that would be the last thing you would want us to be. You made us happy while you were here, and we’re happy that you’re at peace. I just want you to know that I will always love you. Goodbye, my sweet Leslie,” she concluded, before singing the refrain from her iconic hit “I Will Always Love You”.

    Parton was a close friend of Jordan’s and is featured on the track “Where the Soul Never Dies” from his 2021 album Company’s Comin’.

    Celebration of life to be held for Leslie Jordan in Chattanooga

    The City of Chattanooga announced plans to hold a celebration of life for the late actor Leslie Jordan who died in a car crash in Los Angeles two weeks ago.

    Jordan was born and raised in the Scenic City. His friends, family and fans will have the chance to mourn together.

    Jordan’s family requested that the proceeds from the event be given to Cempa Community Care.

    The organization serves underserved communities through primary care and infectious disease care.

    The event will be held on Sunday, Nov. 20, at 5 p.m. at the Memorial Auditorium in Chattanooga.

    It will be all about Leslie Jordan from performances, to comedy, shared memories from family and close friends, special guest appearances, and a special announcement is also expected to be made.

    “Thanks to the city elevating the event and honestly who he was a person and the way he blew up on social media during COVID and the light he brought to so many, I think it will be sold out. I am hopeful for that because he deserves that. He deserves that recognition and honor of all of us to come together across any line that we have and celebrate him,” Miles Huff said.

    Miles Huff is the Director of Community Engagement for Cempa Community Cares.

    He said it is an honor that Jordan’s family wanted the proceeds to go to Cempa to help continue their mission.

    “When we found out about Leslie’s death, our entire team mourned that loss. We reached out proactively to his manager at the time and offered to help and we found out that family requested that we be a part of the event to receive funds and recognition because of his legacy. It is very humbling and a testament to who he was as a person and the friend he was to our organization,” Huff said.

    Huff expressed that Jordan was a longtime friend and advocate for Cempa Community Care as they have always assisted those affected by HIV.

    “We first partnered with him in 2006 with an event that sold out at the Tivoli Theater and several more events in person prior to COVID. Also, in a variety of ways whenever he had a platform that involved Chattanooga, he also mentioned Cempa Community Care and has always been kind to use,” Huff said.

    Beloved actor and comedian Leslie Jordan tragically passed away on Monday at the age of 67 due to complications following a car accident in Los Angeles around 9:30 a.m. local time, Variety reported.

    Jordan was known for his comedic roles in Will and Grace and Glee creator Ryan Murphy’s American Horror Story.

    During the pandemic, Jordan gained millions of followers thanks to the light-hearted and entertaining videos of him singing, dancing, and just making people laugh during lockdown protocols. At the time of his death, Jordan had over 5.8 million followers on the platform.

    Jordan’s videos propelled him to internet fame, covering everything from funny anecdotes from his childhood or Hollywood parties to well-choreographed Beyoncé routines. He would often begin his videos with signature catchphrases like “How y’all doin?” or “Hello fellow hunker downers!”

    Jordan’s new-found internet fame helped him snag a book deal for his memoir “How Y’all Doing?: Misadventures and Mischief from a Life Well Lived” which was released in April 2021.

    Jordan also recorded and released his debut gospel album which featured artists like Dolly Parton and Brandi Carlile that same year.

    “I think that fear keeps so many of us from being successful at things outside our realm of experience,” Jordan penned in his book about his career. “We love to stay in our comfort zone, but the growth only comes when we wander outside of that zone.”

    Leslie Jordan, the widely adored actor and comedian, died Monday morning after a car crash in Hollywood, Calif., multiple outlets reported.

    The frequent Will & Grace guest star was 67.

    Local authorities confirmed to entertainment news site TMZ that Jordan suffered a medical emergency while driving his BMW, which he crashed into the side of a building.

    “The world is definitely a much darker place today without the love and light of Leslie Jordan. Not only was he a mega talent and joy to work with, but he provided an emotional sanctuary to the nation at one of its most difficult times,” a representative for Jordan said in a statement Monday. “Knowing that he has left the world at the height of both his professional and personal life is the only solace one can have today.”

    In 2006, Jordan, a Tennessee native, won an Emmy for his role as Beverley Leslie on Will & Grace. Jordan also appeared on several other popular TV shows, including Boston Legal, Reba, Desperate Housewives, American Horror Story and Call Me Kat. 

    Jordan’s other eclectic credits include Fantasy Island and The United States vs. Billie Holiday.

    Tributes from fellow actors and fans of Jordan poured in quickly after news of his death broke.

    Sean Hayes, who plays Jack McFarland on Will & Grace wrote that Jordan “was one of the funniest people I ever had the pleasure of working with.”

    Jordan was much beloved among LGBTQ2S+ communities. This year, he appeared as a guest star on Season 12 of RuPaul’s Drag Race. The official RuPaul’s Drag Race Twitter account expressed sympathy for Jordan’s death, writing, “Thank you for all the countless laughs and for sharing your spirit with us all.”

    George Takei wrote that he was “stunned” by news of Jordan’s death. “Leslie, we are heartbroken at your loss and will miss your mirth and inimitable spirit,” he wrote.

    During the COVID-19 pandemic, Jordan regularly went viral on TikTok where he posted short, funny videos about his life and daily happenings. As of this writing, Jordan’s TikTok account has 2.3 million followers.

    Many of Jordan’s videos included him asking “How ya’ll doin?” and some included stories about Hollywood or his childhood growing up with identical twin sisters and their “mama,” as he called her. Other times he did silly bits like complete an indoor obstacle course.

    The spotlight led to new opportunities. Earlier this month he released a gospel album called Company’s Comin’ featuring Dolly Parton, Chris Stapleton, Brandi Carlile, Eddie Vedder and Tanya Tucker. He wrote a new book, How Y’all Doing?: Misadventures and Mischief from a Life Well Lived.

    In his last post to social media, Jordan shared a video of himself singing with Danny Myrick to Instagram (where Jordan has 5.8 million followers) the day before his death.
