    Like any other makeup product, the formulas in eyebrow pencils can make or break any makeup look (yes, even when it’s done by a pro with extensive knowledge). In addition to an affordable price point, shoppers should be on the lookout for eyebrow pencils with creamy, hydrating formulas that, when applied to the skin, glide effortlessly over it without tugging the surface.     I generally prefer eyebrow pencils that are mechanical, allowing me to conserve product where I can and store it however I see fit.     When it comes to application, using your pinky for stabilization and letting your applicator glide smoothly and steadily across the skin helps avoid shaky application or rogue marks from the pencil. Try starting off by making light-handed strokes in the direction of your natural hair growth, darkening only as needed to get that natural-looking finish.

    As a skincare-obsessed beauty editor, I do everything in my power to care for the skin below my neck as well as I care for the skin above it.     The best primers will always help create a base for your foundation to grip onto and will help it stay in place all day. You’ll want to choose a primer based on your skin type. If you have oily skin, you may want to look for a formula that mattifies and controls shine. Those with acne-prone skin might benefit from a primer that includes acne-fighting ingredients like salicylic acid, but most importantly, your primer should be noncomedogenic, meaning it won’t clog your pores. You can check any formula for pore-clogging ingredients using Acne Clinic NYC’s ingredient checker. I should note that one or two ingredients labeled comedogenic in a formula won’t automatically clog your pores (as celebrity esthetician Renée Rouleau has pointed out, it’s all about the water-to-oil ratio), but it’s a great tool to use that will help you become more aware of what’s in your products and can help you identify any potential triggers.

    Dry or mature skin types will want to look for primers with hydrating ingredients like hyaluronic acid, squalane, and glycerin. These super hydrators are honestly great for most skin types since they’re noncomedogenic and won’t irritate sensitive skin. I have sensitive, acne-prone skin myself, and I’ve found that primers with these hydrating ingredients, along with a noncomedogenic formula, work best for me.     Here it is—the $9 lip oil I found to be a good dupe for luxury versions. Each of these lip oils is made with plum oil to moisturize the lips, apricot oil to soften and smooth, and pomegranate extract to protect with antioxidants. Together, these hero ingredients create a formula with zero thickness or stickiness. Instead, it feels silky and slippery, like any good lip oil should. Not only that, but it deposits just the right amount of shine and sheer color. The result is a plump and juicy-looking pout. 

    The first shade, Pink Rosé, is a true rosy pink color. It looks like it would deposit a lot of pigment when in the tube, but once it’s on the lips, you only see a sheer wash of color, which is just what I like. I think it’s a good match for the classic Dior Lip Glow Oil in Pink.
