Ringcat is pleased to present the Pun Kit Line, a collection of whimsical cross-stitch patterns and kits for crafters who love to make hand-stitched projects as gifts or for the simple joy of creativity

    Press Release

    updated: Aug 16, 2018

Monique van Nieuwamerongen, owner of the Netherlands company, Ringcat, is pleased to announce the release of her Pun Kit Line, a craft collection including ten of her most popular pun-themed mini cross-stitch patterns, each available as an instant digital download from her online shop, or as a cross-stitch kit including fabric, thread, needles, a printed pattern, and an embroidery hoop.

Designed to fill the need for fun, satisfying, and quick-to-complete craft projects, each of Ringcat’s cross-stitch patterns fills a 3-inch embroidery hoop with a whimsical image of a pet/animal, food/drink or household object accompanied by a short line of text containing a verbal pun relating to the item.

One of the things I enjoy in life is creating cute and funny cross-stitch patterns and kits that make me and everybody else smile.

    Monique, Creator and owner Ringcat

The ten-piece Pun Kit Line includes digital cross-stitch patterns based on the following puns, combined with related cartoon-style images:

    ·         Avocato

    ·         You are one in a melon

    ·         Pup of tea

    ·         You got a pizza my heart

    ·         This is my jam

    ·         It’s a brew tiful day

    ·         Positivi tea

    ·         I love you a latte

    ·         Purr bread cat

    ·         Mana tea

As a creative designer and self-professed “geeky cat lover,” Monique has always enjoyed creative projects, particularly the satisfying art of cross stitch, using a needle, colorful threads, and “Aida” fabric. In tune with her artistic nature, Monique listens to alternative rock music, is a vegan, and wears practical alternative clothing.

After being diagnosed in 2015 with a degenerative motor neuron disease, Monique discovered that with a few modifications to her previously active lifestyle, she can now digitally design cross-stitch patterns, which allows her to continue being creative without sacrificing her health or personal comfort.

Monique is aware that while cross-stitch is a popular and even a worldwide hobby, not everyone wants to spend weeks or months on a single project. With this idea in mind, Monique came up with the perfect solution of designing small-scale cross stitch patterns that can be completed quickly and easily. Each of her cross stitch designs can be started and finished within only a few hours, depending on the skill level and amount of free time a crafter spends on the project.

In her own words, Monique states, “Sometimes you just want to relax and finish your creative project in an afternoon or so. That is why I started creating cross stitch patterns and kits that are small, fast and easy to make. Each design will fit a 3-inch embroidery hoop. All my patterns and kits come with clear instructions so that even beginners can experience the joy of cross stitching.”

A Ringcat cross-stitch pattern is the perfect creative gift idea for any occasion:

    ·         Birthday gift

    ·         Christmas gift

    ·         DIY gift

    ·         Funny gift

    ·         Geeky gift

    ·         Gift for cat lover

    ·         Gift for coffee lover

    ·         Gift for tea lover

    ·         Home decor

    ·         Kitchen decor

    ·         Nursery décor

Digital Artisanal Launches Standalone Online Store With 54 Simple Modern Cross Stitch Patterns

    updated: Jul 30, 2018

When Brianne Benness decided to start cross stitching again for the first time since childhood, she was excited that the traditional craft was having a modern resurgence. While there are pages and pages of cute, funny and subversive cross stitch patterns available for sale online, none of them really spoke to Benness. As an editor and designer with a background in architecture, she really wanted to create her own patterns.

Traditional design software like Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop are poorly suited to making cross stitch patterns, which require a limited color palette, a grid structure and a final product that has small symbols representing each color instead of pixels. On the other hand, cross stitch pattern software did not offer the kind of design flexibility that Benness was used to. So she wrote her own program using the Processing design language and released a basic version of the cross stitch pattern maker on DigitalArtisanal.com.

Stitchers today want modern cross stitch patterns that will complement their style. The DIY home decor trend has made us all more aware of how beautiful our spaces can be, and cross stitch is the perfect way to create affordable accents for any room.

Brianne Benness, Founder and Lead Designer at Digital Artisanal

“Stitchers today want modern cross stitch patterns that will complement their style,” said Brianne Benness, founder and lead designer at Digital Artisanal. “The DIY home decor trend has made us all more aware of how beautiful our spaces can be, and cross stitch is the perfect way to create affordable accents for any room.”

So far, Benness has used her program to design three unique collections that stitchers can purchase in the new Digital Artisanal Store. The Sakonnet Collection includes 10 patterns with a fresh green palette and design elements including Helvetica Black and geometric fills that will appeal to every minimalist. The Suffragist Collection combines the pop art aesthetic with five noted American Suffragists to create bold accent pieces in two different sizes. And the AIGA Icons Collection features 34 classic graphic symbols that have been converted to small three-inch projects that are perfect for any design geek who is just starting to stitch.

Digital Artisanal launched the new online store to friends and family on July 29, and the grand opening sale will begin Aug. 1. Benness plans to keep the pattern maker available for free and to release a new collection in the store this fall.

    About Stitch Octopus

Rachel Alva started designing cross stitch kits after she was faced with a very real problem. Although cross stitching is more needed than ever to unplug and unwind from our busy digital lives, most of the commercially available kits are stuck in the past. After many months of designing cross stitch kits pixel by pixel, Stitch Octopus products started gaining notoriety among the modern cross stitch industry.

Peacock & Fig Gets Regal With Launch of the Royal Proclamations Cross Stitch Pattern Collection

    [ad_1]

Bringing an aristocratic twist to modern cross stitch patterns, Peacock & Fig introduces this royal-themed collection to global fans.

    Press Release

    updated: Oct 10, 2017

On October 18, 2017, Peacock & Fig will be releasing the Royal Proclamations cross stitch pattern collection, pairing the distinctive graceful designs of Peacock & Fig with cheeky phrases and elegant typography. From wedding cross stitch patterns to new baby patterns and other life milestones, the Royal Proclamations collection allows stitchers to celebrate their life like royalty. Inspired by vintage illustrations and paintings, the Royal Proclamations collection seamlessly blends regal imagery with customizable options. The sassy phrases Peacock & Fig is known for are also featured in this collection, just enough to add a little “spark” to traditional wedding and baby samplers. With gorgeous flowing typography, sparkling beads, and shimmering metallics, the Royal Proclamations cross stitch patterns will become cherished heirlooms for generations to come. The collection features some traditional samplers, such as baby cross stitch patterns customizable with the baby’s birth details. Or for parents with a sense of humour, the “New Heir” pattern refers to the newborn as a potential “dud.” It also features patterns such as the resplendent “Royal Wedding” cross stitch pattern, with a sarcastic reference to the royal tradition of marrying within the family. Anniversaries, bridal showers, and birthdays are also celebrations highlighted in the collection. The collection also has free video tutorials for those new to beading, and how to easily handle the specialty metallic Kreinik floss that is featured in these designs. Peacock & Fig has dozens of tutorials on the site and accompanying YouTube channel, so even beginner stitchers can tackle any of these patterns with confidence.

Following the popular Spirited Animals collection, designer Dana Batho is so excited that sneak peeks of the upcoming Royal Proclamations collection have been received so well. “I’ve gotten so much feedback from people saying ‘Finally!!!’ when I show them previews of these patterns. Traditional wedding and baby samplers are often very sweet but have very little personality — I think with this collection, stitchers will finally have the opportunity to celebrate the big milestones in their lives with style and humour.” Peacock & Fig’s designs have been featured in Cross Stitch Crazy and Just CrossStitch, and the easy-to-follow tutorials have also been featured on BuzzFeed and Hello Giggles. “The response to the Spirited Animals collection has been amazing, it gives me such great joy to see people enjoying these patterns so much,” Dana says.

Dana Batho, Designer, Peacock & Fig

Dana explains her role as a designer as “helping people relax by stabbing something 20,000 times.” She shares her love of stitching not only as a hobby for others, but also as a means of physical or emotional therapy. Some stitchers have shared stories about finding cross stitch via a therapist as a recommended way to cope with anxiety or depression, and others have recently rediscovered the craft that their grandmother taught them as a child. Many others found cross stitch through funny memes on Instagram, and quickly learned how relaxing and easy it is. Dana understands the therapeutic benefits of stitching very well herself. She is a wounded veteran from the Canadian Armed Forces, and stitching helps her cope with daily chronic pain from her injury. “If I can help people to learn a healthy way to cope with physical and mental challenges, or even just the daily stress of juggling the kids and work and family responsibilities, that makes me really happy,” Dana says.
